Workshops
Children and adult workshops, based on the Kundura Memory archive, aim to connect with the past, present, and future of the Sümerbank Leather and Footwear Factory, one of the country's most important industrial heritage sites.
Workshop activities draw inspiration from the exhibition Kundura’s Memory: The World in a Factory and the Kundura Memory Archive.
We invite everyone to experience different themes and concepts in the interdisciplinary field within the multi-layered structure of Kundura Memory and to participate in workshop activities prepared with original content. By focusing on production and creativity, we aim to sustain this dialogue among participants from all walks of life.
Cultural Heritage at My School
The Cultural Heritage at My School Program aims to raise awareness and foster consciousness about the preservation, continuity, and transmission of local, traditional, and national values that together form the shared identity of humanity. Within the scope of the program, teachers who are in constant contact with students are provided with cultural heritage training to raise awareness about cultural heritage in the curriculum. In this way, the subject of cultural heritage can be integrated into core curriculum subjects such as Turkish, history, social studies, visual arts, and music. By including the concept of cultural heritage in the content of these subjects, in-class adaptations can also be developed to promote the understanding and acceptance of cultural assets.
Who can participate in the program?
Teachers who are in direct contact with students.
What is the content of the program?
The program discusses the historical background of the concept of cultural heritage, examples of tangible and intangible and natural heritage, national and international institutions, possible collaborations for schools, and activities related to cultural heritage that can be added to the curriculum.
What do participants learn in the program?
Within the scope of the program, teachers learn about the history of the concept of cultural heritage, national and international institutions and organizations, ongoing current work, and how to inform students about these topics. They are also shown what kinds of activities they can have their students do related to cultural heritage and the methods they should pay attention to on school trips to raise awareness on this subject.
What is the outcome of the program?
Participants who complete the program receive a Certificate of Participation from the Memory Kundura Cultural Heritage Preservation Association.
Corporate Workshops and Training Programs
Within this program, which is designed based on the history and memory of Beykoz Kundura, we shape workshop activities focusing on specific themes according to the requests and needs of institutions.
From amateur archiving to analog photography and film, or leather workshops… Learning at Beykoz Kundura is not limited only to children.
In the archiving workshop, with the experience and knowledge of Kundura Memory, you can go through a real archive and learn the subtleties of this work, taking the first steps toward building your own archive.
In the analog film and photography workshop, you can get acquainted with the techniques that masters cannot give up, practiced hands-on in the darkroom of Kundura Memory.
Considering that Beykoz Kundura was a leather factory for 200 years, could there be a more ideal place for a workshop where you will learn to process this material and design your own leather goods?
