Kundura Performance, which began its activities in 2018, brings together creative projects and artists from Turkey and around the world with its audience, in addition to Beykoz Kundura productions.
Kundura Performance, in its program prepared based on the oral history narratives of Kundura Hafıza, places emphasis on exploring the relationship between space and body, influenced by its transformation as a space and the memory of the factory. Curated by S. Buse Yıldırım, the Artistic Director of Beykoz Kundura, the event program focuses on documentary theater, primarily featuring performances and plays created with influences from oral history and biographical drama.
Kundura Performance programs dance and documentary theater-focused works in the performance field, also hosts a wide range of musical experiences and projects in the music domain
Kundura Performance, which enjoys breaking away from traditional forms and norms, also develops partnerships with creative artists and groups from the world stage, such as Stefan Kaegi, Rimini Protokoll, Manuela Infante, Rabih Mroué, Sofia Dias, Vítor Roriz, Silke Huysmans, and Hannes Dereere.
It also develops projects aimed at re-discovering the performative elements related to the sense of belonging and daily lives of the factory’s former workers, creating space for creative artistic practice, transforming these into an experience, and encouraging artists to explore.
