SÜMERBANK: IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF LABOR FOR THE LAST 90 YEARS

 

The second of Kundura Memory Archive and Research's panel discussion series, Kundura Memory Talks II will be held at Beykoz Kundura on Saturday, March 23. The series is specially prepared for the 100th anniversary celebrations of the Republic and marks Sümerbank's 90th anniversary. Founded in 1933 and becoming one of the significant symbols in the history of the Republic, it embarks with Sümerbank's motto 'We will achieve everything better.'

Comprising three sessions, this second panel focuses on institutionalization activities carried out during the late Ottoman period and early years of the Republic, life stories of early workers, and efforts in local production. Memory Talks II will commence at 10:30 AM with an exhibition and field tour.

The first session, which is ‘Daily Life’ will be moderated by Arzu Öztürkmen and Gül Köksal, Serkan Tuna and Tuba Demirci will make their presentations. The second session will focus on the ‘Woman Labor’ and will be moderated by Asena Günal and Yaşar Tolga Cora, Gülhan Balsoy and Pınar Karababa will discuss in this session. The last session will be about ‘Economic History’ and will be moderated by Hakan Yılmaz and İlhan Tekeli, Aslıhan Aykaç and Yusuf Doğan Çetinkaya will give their speeches in this session. Memory Talks aims to read the last 90 year’s memory from today.
