Türkiye is a grape country with the world’s 5th largest vineyard area. Yet it differs significantly from the other leading grape-producing countries: in Türkiye, grape culture comes to life and gains visibility not so much through winemaking as through fresh fruit, raisin exports, vine leaves, verjuice, pestil (fruit leather), cevizli sucuk (walnut-filled grape molasses sweet), pekmez (grape molasses) and many other by-products. The lands of Anatolia, which love to use and enjoy grapes in every form, are also the world’s largest grapevine gene pool. More than 1,400 grape varieties originated on these lands and form an important part of our country’s agricultural and cultural wealth and heritage.
An enjoyable panel awaits you, crowned with eye-opening insights, in which experts and academics will discuss the value of the grape in this region, as well as the distinctive qualities and economic potential that can introduce Türkiye’s agricultural importance to the world. After the panel, you can join a special tasting with the participants, featuring a variety of grape products.
