“I kept the door slips, that is, the kalamoza. What’s a kalamoza? It’s a thick ledger. We’d write on the kalamoza whenever goods came in. What came in? 300 pairs. Which sizes: 10 of size 39, 50 of size 40, 38 of size 41. I’d write all that down. When someone from sales asked, ‘Son, what do we have on hand?’ I’d look and answer accordingly.” The workshop will begin by exploring the Production and Arasta sections of the exhibition Kundura’s Memory: A World Fit into a Factory. It will continue with a look at the robotic systems used in factories today to sort products. Using LEGO Education’s Spike Essential set, children will build their own automatic sorting conveyor belts. They will then program their models using motor, color sensor, sound, display and bar graph coding blocks. No prior coding knowledge is required.
